On March 7th 2015, Ukrainian Canadian youth met in front of the Taras Shevchenko Monument on the grounds of the Manitoba Legislative Building to honour the 201st Anniversary of his birth. Representatives of PLAST and Ukrainian Youth Association CYM placed a wreath at the foot of the monument and listened to short biography of Shevchenko’s life

The Rally to mark the 1st anniversary of the Euromaidan events and to show solidarity with Ukraine that was held at the Manitoba Legislative Building on December 7, 2014 went over very well. Some 150 people were in attendance. The event was well covered by 4 television stations in Winnipeg as well as in the Winnipeg Free Press.
The annual Holodomor Commemoration organized by the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Manitoba Provincial Council took place at the Holodomor monument in front of Winnipeg City Hall on Saturday, November 22, 2014. The commemoration began at 1:30 p.m. with a memorial service at the monument and was followed by a short program inside.
On September 21, 2014, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Manitoba Provincial Council sponsored the Official Unveiling of the Holodomor Statue: “Bitter Memories of Childhood” on the grounds of the Manitoba Legislative Building. The statue is located near the monument to Taras Shevchenko. Dignitaries in attendance included the Lt. Gov. of Manitoba, Hon. Philip Lee, and the Premier Hon. Greg Selinger, Metropolitan Lawrence Huculak, UCC National President Paul Grod and the President of the Ukrainian World Congress Eugene Czolij.
The monument is an exact copy of the statue which is located at the entrance to the Holodomor Memorial Museum in Kyiv, Ukraine.
he Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Manitoba Provincial Council is pleased to introduce the Bulava Awards.
