The Ukrainian program at the University of Manitoba offers undergraduate and graduate (MA) classes in language, literature and culture. The Department specializes in modern Ukrainian literature (from 1798 until the present day), but it also teaches earlier periods and folklore. The literature of the Ukrainian diaspora is also represented.

The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) today announced the renewal of the UCC Parliamentary Internship Program aimed at providing Ukrainian Canadian youth with meaningful political experience. UCC is pleased that the Ukrainian National Federation of Canada (UNF) is a founding sponsor and will provide the interns training through the Paul Yuzyk Institute for Youth Leadership.
On March 10, 2016 the Ukrainian Canadian Congress – Manitoba Provincial Council held its annual Taras Shevchenko Commemoration on the grounds of the Manitoba Legislative Assembly. A special guest present was the Ukrainian Ambassador to Canada, Andrii Shevchenko who was accompanied to the event by his spouse, Hanna Homonai.
