Holodomor: The Genocide That Never Found an End

Centre for Ukrainian Canadian Studies invites everyone to attend the special screening of Holodomor: The Genocide That Never Found an End

Spurred on by the incomplete reappraisal of the crimes of the Soviet Union in Western Europe, the Holodomor fell into the focus of this documentary. This famine of the 1930s robbed an estimated three to seven million Ukrainians of their lives and still shapes the Ukrainian self-image today without taking up sufficient space in the international discourse. In the film, eyewitness interviews meet expert voices, which together aim to shed more light on the events of the time, to depict the international reactions and to clarify the question of why the incidents are still not internationally recognized as genocide.

The film works with realistic, unadorned footage, is based on the theories of David Mamet and pursues the claim to present opinions, not to form them.
