About the film:
Despite being regarded as unpreferred second-class citizens by the dominant Canadian society, Ukrainian Canadians enlisted in great numbers to fight for Canada in the Second World War. The Ukrainian enlistment percentage was the highest of any ethnic group outside of the British. Spanning continents and generations, the film weaves first-person testimonials with archival material to recount the remarkable Ukrainian Canadian odyssey from Eastern Europe to Canada and to the battlefields of Europe and Asia.
