On May 11, 2014, Oleh Sentsov was arrested in Russian-occupied Crimea on trumped up terrorism charges and sentenced to over 20 years in prison in Arctic Siberia. There have been reports from human rights groups that he has suffered torture at the hands of his Russian jailers.
Sentsov was arrested and jailed for his opposition to Russia’s invasion and occupation of Ukraine. He has been declared a political prisoner by numerous human rights groups while the US, Canada and EU have called for his immediate release.
Sentsov is one of more than 60 Ukrainian political prisoners illegally jailed by the Russian regime. He is committed to continue hunger strike until all Ukrainian political prisoners are released.
Please join this event to protest the illegal imprisonment of Ukrainians by the Russian regime.
